Only three weeks until our first FULL dress rehearsal for Fiddler on the Roof.
EEP!
The good news is, today's rehearsal went REALLY well. I am starting to breathe more deeply and sleep more soundly. I have a wonderfully responsible lady who's taken over the props and a fabulous couple who have taken the load of the set off my shoulders.
And the kids are really stepping up their game! I am getting to that point in directing where the kids are in complete control of the show.
It feels GOOD.
Really, that's my goal as a director; to give all I can to coaching the actors, and then eventually I sit back to watch their great insights and emotions emerge. We're not there yet, but we're getting
close.
It is such a beautiful process to watch unfolding. No rose opening could be lovelier.
Now I'm off to cut out some costume dresses and tape some bottles to make them less prone to breaking.
THREE WEEKS.
*sigh*
boy I wish we lived by you!

ReplyDeleteI really love that show. It is my favorite
